Homework Assignments

There are 8 Homework assignments in this course. Each assignment has a 2 week period to complete the assignment.

There are 2 core assignments of note that have some unique rules to them

HW0 – Intro to C++

This assignment is a required assignment to ensure you can complete assignments in this course

If you cannot complete this assignment you will need to meet with the instructor to identify why you were unable to complete the assignment.

HW7 – Speed Test

This final assignment is a bit special because its all about optimization. The assignment will have the same requirements as HW6 but the grading scheme will be based on how efficient you can make your code.

40 Points are having a fully working version of HW6. Based on your average speed of your solution over multiple tests we will compare it to our solution and give a score based on how close you are to our solution. If you are faster you may even earn some extra credit

NOTE: These are run on Virtual Machine Environments so multi-threading is not available for these assignments.

Code Reviews

Starting on HW1 onward you may be randomly selected for a code review. This is your time to meet with a TA and explain your code at a high level. These meetings should be no more than 30 to 40 minutes long and give you a chance to discuss how you approached the assignment and what unique challenges and approaches you faced during the assignment
